Tell us a bit about what you do and why you do it?
In a nutshell I am all about IT and Communications - I develop case and practice management systems. I love the logical thinking and creativity behind what I do. Coming up with solutions to help other people. Creating something in my mind and bringing it to life using the tools available is a very rewarding process for me. I enjoy speaking with users, finding out what issues they have with systems, what works for them, what they find useful and what they don’t. Finding ways to resolve any issues and build on what they like and enjoy. Happy faces are much nicer to look at.
Why did you decide to join Carbon?
I think the business model is great. Lawyers actually being able to achieve what they want to with the tools they need to support this. I am well aware of some of the restrictions and targets enforced on lawyers which causes frustration and can prevent them from being able to fully help their clients. At Carbon this isn't an issue.
When I met with Owain I thought he was a lovely person with a strong zest for the Carbon model and its future. Michael was the same and after both conversations I knew Carbon was a solid unit with a great business model and wonderful team at the core. I wanted to be a part of the excitement!
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is happiness. Waking up and looking forward to getting to work. Being with people who want to work and thrive to achieve as one unit. I get excited when I think about getting home from anywhere, seeing my other half or my family and friends. If I can feel as happy and excited about going to work and cracking on with or starting a new project, as I do about those things, then I know I’m in the right place in life and I’ve achieved something great.
