Tell us a bit about what you do?
I'm a Commercial and Property Litigator, specialising in the Housing and Insurance sectors. In a nutshell I deal with disputes, finding the best solution for my clients. That could be working with a Social Housing Association, helping and supporting victims of anti-social behaviour or an insurance company helping resolve policy or third party damage disputes. I am also a proud 'tree root geek'. Tree roots are the subject of a lot of claims for insurance companies. I have become somewhat of an expert in this area.
What do your clients love about you?
I truly love being part of my clients' team and getting stuck in to help. I'm approachable, available and hold regular file surgeries so everyone knows exactly where we are in a process. Being the 'go to' problem solver makes me proud.
I do love to 'give' back to my clients and the communities they are involved with. You can often find me wielding a paintbrush, clearing rubbish or cleaning properties as part of Action Days for housing clients. I think it's so important to be part of the bigger picture. I love the ethos of Social Housing Associations - helping build better, safer, harmonious communities.
How about hobbies?
Eating - can that be a hobby? My guilty pleasure is Mexican food and I can often be found in my fabulous local Mexican eatery in Bristol. A bit too handy.
My 'proper' hobby is baking. When 'The Great British Bake Off' is airing I take on the technical challenge each week. My star bake is my Clotted Cream Cake. Obviously not one for those who are counting calories - I do make sure I do lots of dog walking after indulging.
Not only am I a 'tree root geek' but I do have to confess to being a science fiction geek too. So when I am not eating, baking or walking I write book reviews for an online science fiction book site.
